This lovely 18th century country estate has been beautifully restored to provide top quality self-catering accommodation with a range of superb facilities, located in an unspoilt green valley in the heart of the South Hams. There are 28 acres of private grounds, including woodland, wild flower meadows, a walled orchard and a lake. Outdoor activities include a kidney-shaped outdoor swimming pool (heated during summer season), a hard tennis court, boules and croquet, coarse fishing, and stabling for guests to bring their own horses. Indoor facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool and a fitness room. All in all, there is something here for everyone, and plenty of quiet corners to just sit and enjoy this beautiful spot - if you are lucky you may encounter some of the wildlife here, a glimpse of a deer or a badger on a summer evening. Colmer is ideally placed for exploring this area - the nearest beaches are Bigbury, Bantham and Thurlestone, and numerous sandy coves dotted in between. Kingsbndge, at the heart of the South Hams, is about 6 miles drive, and has an interesting mix of small shops and restaurants, along with boating activities including cruises down the estuary to Salcombe, a popular sailing mecca with a real ‘mediterranean’ atmosphere. Shopping in Dartmouth and Totnes, walking or riding on the tors of Dartmoor, enjoying a pint of real ale and good food at the ‘California Inn’, only five minutes walk from Colmer, or further afield at one of the many country inns, enjoying the spring flowers and autumn colours - there are endless opportunities for all ages. Colmer has close links with the Dartmouth Golf & Country Club, approx. 15 minutes drive away, and guests have the benefit of a 25% discount on holiday membership, which gives access to all the health and leisure facilities as well as the championship standard golf course. This lovely little cottage is very warm and welcoming, equipped to a high standard and imaginatively furnished with bright mediterranean colours. The front entrance leads into an attractive, light and airy open plan living room with comfy seating and dining area, and well-equipped fitted kitchen. Upstairs to two pretty bedrooms - one double and one small twin and shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and basin. Patio area to the front of the cottage and the communal sunny, walled garden is only 20 yards from the door.
